ICT Business Community Calls On Vice President
A Representative
delegation of ICT
associations and industry
members paid a coutesy
call on the Vice Presidnet
His Excellency John
Dramani Mahama at the
castle to formally
congratulate him on his
new responsibility.
The delegation was made up of
Ghana Internet Service
Providers Association (GISPA),
Internet Society Ghana (ISOC),
Ghana Intitue of Information
Technology (GIIT), Ghana Information
Network for Knowledge
Sharing (GINKS) and Ghana
Association of Software and
IT Services Companies (GASSCOM)
The delegation raised the key issues
affecting the industry including;
the high cost of bandwidth,
the regulatory issues surrounding
wimax licence and the
challenges face by indegenious
Ghana ICT companies operating
in the country.
The vice President who was the
the Minister of Communications
during the first NDC administration
retierated his support for the
industry and assured the various
associated of his undying support.
He encouraged the ICT
business community to submit
proposals to his office for further
discussion on how to accelerate
growth in the industry
“ if you are
looking for an ear in the presidency
you certainly have one in me”
he added.
